Five days to go to the opening of a multi sport fiesta among the Asian countries or the 18th Asian Games 2018 to be held in Palembang and Jakarta. President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo called on the people to give their full support to all Indonesian athletes.

“Let us give encouragement to all Indonesian athletes!” President Jokowi tweeted in his official Twitter account on Monday (13/8).

Previously, the President praised the fight of Indonesian National Football Team who earned a 4-0 victory against Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) during its first match on Sunday (12/8).

“Indonesia started the 2018 Asian Games with the victory of Indonesian National Football Team in a match versus Chinese Taipei at Patriot Stadium, Bekasi, last night,” the President tweeted.

In the meantime, President reiterated his call to all Indonesians to support Indonesian National Basket Team which will have their first match tomorrow in Kelapa Gading, Jakarta.

For the record, Indonesia aims to be ranked in the top 10 list and win at least 16 gold medals in the 18th Asian Games 2018 to take place from 18th August to 2nd September 2018.

Indonesia Asian Games 2018 Organizing Committee (INASGOC) informed that the Opening Ceremony of the 18th Asian Games 2018 will take place on Saturday (18/8) at 07.00 p.m. Western Indonesian Time.

“At the opening of the 18th Asian Games there will be a colossal ceremony as a way to show the world that Indonesia is a big nation that is capable of hosting an international event,” press release of INASGOC reads.

The Opening Ceremony of Asian Games 2018 is going to feature renowned Indonesian singers, such as Anggun, Raisa, Tulus, Edo Kondologit, Putri Ayu, Fatin, GAC, Kamasean and Via Vallen.

Based on the press release, these musicians will perform on a spectacular stage, one of the largest of its kind.

The ceremony stage, with features of 120-meter length, 30-meter width and 26-meter height, will showcase a towering mountain as its background, decorated by Indonesian beautiful, unique plants and flowers.

The stage, that was manually made by a number of artists from Bandung and Jakarta, will also become the arena for a total of 4,000 dancers to perform, choreographed by top choreographers, such as Denny Malik and Eko Supriyanto. These dancers will perform alongside an orchestra of hundreds of musicians conducted by Addie M.S. and Ronald Steven, two conductors whose reputation are already well-known in Indonesian music scene.
