Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) is expected to participate in the Government’s infrastructure development programs, says Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung at a Gala Dinner Towards ITB and Engineering Higher Education 100th Anniversary in Indonesia held at the Auditorium of Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, Jakarta. It also serves as a fundraising event.

“Ladies and gentlemen, hopefully this event brings a deep meaning for our engineering high schools,” Pramono said.

Pramono also likened the real condition of the Government to health, which is in good condition. Nevertheless, he acknowledged that Indonesia’s economy cannot grow well because of the many bureaucratic problems.

“Indonesia’s rank in the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) index has improved now. When Pak Jokowi took office in 2014, Indonesia’s EODB index was ranked 120th,” Pramono said while hoping that the current condition will continue to improve.

On that occasion, Pramono also said that ITB is so diverse. “Those attending this evening are from seniors to young people. And hopefully all of you could help Pak Kadarsyah (ITB Rector) to make this event a success,” Pramono concluded.

Meanwhile, Chairman of ITB Alumni Association Ridwan Djamaluddin said that the event is set to present international and national seminars, panel discussions, exhibitions, cultural arts performances, technology and sports performances, and social services.

This year’s event adopts the theme “Innovation for Sustainable Growth”, which brings science and technology together to develop Indonesia in various fields through innovation. The event is expected not only to be a ceremonial one, but most importantly, to be a momentum for a better introspection and transformation as well.

Also attending the event were Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya, Minister of Communications and Information Rudiantara, and Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Archandra Tahar. (FID/JAY/EN) (MUR/EP/YM/Naster).
