President “Jokowi” Widodo urged that all incomplete 2017 national priority programs and strategic projects be completed immediately. In addition to that, the implementation of strategic project program on the ground that is planned to be conducted in 2018 must be ensured.

“Therefore, I instruct Coordinating Minister for the Economy to re-evaluate programs and projects and decide those considered possible to be implemented and those that are not, it should be settled immediately,” President Jokowi said in a directives during a Plenary Cabinet Meeting at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Monday (12/2).

Regarding the 2019 Government Work Plan (RKP), the President reminded all that 2019 is a political year. Thus, President Jokowi said that after the acceleration of infrastructure development is completed, the Government should focus more on the development of human resources in order to improve Indonesia’s economic competitiveness.

For that reason, President Jokowi once again reminded the related ministries about this matter considering what comes after the development of infrastructure is the development of human resources.

“I think Ministry of Manpower, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Education and Culture, Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Ministry of State-owned Enterprises, and other ministries should start planning programs to be implemented for the development of human resources,” the President firmly said.

Attending the Plenary Cabinet Meeting were Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Wiranto, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut B. Pandjaitan, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Minister of National Development Planning (PPN)/Head of National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) Bambang Brodjonegoro, Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita, Minister of Communication and Informatics Rudiantara, Minister of Home Affairs Tjahjo Kumolo, Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly, Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Susi Pudjiastuti, and Minister of Defense Ryamizrad Ryacudu.
