President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo admitted that he has received many questions when the country faces problems mainly over the past 4-5 months. The question is “Does Indonesia still unite?”.

According to the President, the understanding of concepts and values of the nation must always be promoted. The President said that the past 4-5 months reminds us that there are a lot of problems that we need to solve and a lot of things that we need to improve.

“To understand the concepts and values of the nation, the people must truly be aware that Indonesia is plural and diverse,” President Jokowi said when delivering his remarks at the Inauguration of Central Executive Board (DPP) of Hanura Party on Wednesday (22/2), at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC), Bogor, West Java.

Diversity which is imprinted in the nation has become Indonesia’s character, identity, and entity as a nation. “The diversity has immersed in the life of Indonesians and become a symbol of harmony of our people,” the President firmly said.

Therefore, President Jokowi asserted that we have to continue maintaining God?s gift to Indonesia, namely the plurality and diversity.

Also attended the Inauguration were the 5th President of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri as Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Chairwoman, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Wiranto, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna H. Laoly, Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Setya Novanto as Golkar Party Chairman, Speaker of People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Zulkifli Hasan as National Mandate Party (PAN) Chairman, Hanura Party Chairman Oesman Sapta, and West Java Deputy Governor Deddy Mizwar.
