Wang Jiarui: Best Relationship Between RI-PRC Is During President SBY Leadership

“The success reached by Indonesia in recent 10 years in economy and stability, they noted as prominent achievement”, said Special Staff of President for Foreign Affairs, Teuku Faizasyah to the press at Presidential Complex Area, Jakarta, Tuesday (16/9). Both leaders, said Teuku Faizasyah, expect that it could be maintain in the future.

In the occasion, President SBY and Wang Jiarui discuss about South China sea (LTS) matters. Wang Jiarui is accompanied by China Ambassador for Indonesia Xie Feng.

China appreciates President SBY’s role in regional issue, particularly as mediator in dispute matters between RRT and particular Asian countries in the region.

President SBY hopes the next elected President Joko Widodo could continue to maintain the good relationship between RI – RRT. “I hope the next leader, Mr. Joko Widodo could also maintain good relationship with China”, said President SBY.

President SBY accompanied by State Secretary Sudi Silalahi, Minister of Foreign Affairs Marty Natalegawa, Minister of Defense Purnomo Yusgiantoro and Chief of State Intelligence Agency (BIN) Marciano Norman.

Teuku Faizasyah adds President SBY then receives courtesy call from former President of South Korea Lee Myung-bak. “Both talk as a best friend. Former President of South Korea Lee Myung-bak, during his leadership, has contributed lots in bilateral relationship of both countries. During economic crisis, Lee Myung-bak did not lay off Indonesian workers in South Korea”, explain Faizasyah.

Teuku Faizasyah assess the relationship between President SBY and the former President Lee Myung-bak could be a good example on personal relationship between figures who could give positive impact on bilateral matters.

“President SBY again express his appreciation to Lee Myung-bak who has nominated President SBY as a President and Head of Global Green Growth Institute Assembly (GGGI), which one of its office is in Seoul, South Korea”, explain Faizasyah about the conversation between both leaders.(AOS/ES)(Ifp)
