Dalam beberapa kesempatan, Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) meminta jajaran pemerintah fokus menyelesaikan konektivitas dengan percepatan pembangunan infrastruktur, mulai dari jalan, jembatan, pelabuhan, sampai dengan bandara.<\/p>\n

Begitu pula saat mendengarkan penjelasan Menteri Perhubungan, Budi Karya Sumadi, tentang pengembangan Bandar Udara Trunojoyo Sumenep, Kabupaten Sumenep, Minggu (8\/10).<\/p>\n

Presiden kembali mengingatkan tentang pentingnya konektivitas antar pulau maupun di dalam pulau. \u0093Konektivitas transportasi harus selalu dikembangkan,\u0094 kata Presiden di ruang tunggu Bandara Trunojoyo, Kabupaten Sumenep.<\/p>\n

Oleh karena itu, Presiden Jokowi mengapresiasi Kementerian Perhubungan yang telah memperpanjang landasan Bandara Trunojoyo dari 1.100 meter menjadi 1.600 meter sehingga pesawat komersial kelas ATR sudah dapat mendarat sejak minggu lalu.<\/p>\n

Namun Presiden memerintahkan Menteri Perhubungan agar Bandara Trunojoyo dapat digunakan oleh pesawat yang lebih besar lagi. Hal ini disampaikan Presiden mengingat Pulau Madura dengan penduduk 4 juta jiwa memiliki potensi ekonomi dan mobilitas tinggi bepergian ke berbagai destinasi.<\/p>\n

\u0093Harus diperpanjang lagi agar dapat digunakan pesawat yang lebih besar,\u0094 ucap Presiden.<\/p>\n

Menteri Perhubungan Budi Karya Sumadi mengatakan bahwa diperlukan perpanjangan landasan dari saat ini 1.600 meter dan lebar 30 meter menjadi 2.250 meter dan lebar 45 meter agar dapat digunakan oleh pesawat jet. \u0093Sehingga tidak hanya pesawat proppeller<\/em> saja yang bisa mendarat, namun juga jet,\u0094 ucap Budi.<\/p>\n

Untuk menampung calon penumpang maupun penumpang yang datang diperlukan pengembangan luas terminal. \u0093Namun perluasan terminal ini tidak dapat diselesaikan sekaligus, tapi melalui pentahapan. Tahap 1 seluas\u00a0 800 meter persegi, tahap 2 seluas 1.160 meter persegi dan tahap 3 seluas 2.139 meter persegi,\u0094 ucap Budi.<\/p>\n
