Lembaga nonstruktural ini berada di bawah dan bertanggung jawab kepada presiden.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dalam melaksanakan tugas investigasi kecelakaan transportasi, KNKT menyelenggarakan fungsi:<br \/>\na. permintaan data dan keterangan kepada perseorangan, pelaku, pegawai\/pejabat instansi terkait, instansi terkait, lembaga\/organisasi profesi terkait, masyarakat, dan\/atau pihak lain;<br \/>\nb. pengumpulan, pengolahan, analisis, dan penyajian data secara sistematis dan obyektif penyebab kecelakaan transportasi;<br \/>\nc. penyusunan laporan hasil pelaksanaan investigasi kecelakaan transportasi;<br \/>\nd. pemberian dan\/atau penyampaian rekomendasi dalam laporan akhir investigasi kecelakaan transportasi;<br \/>\ne. pelaksanaan koordinasi dan kerja sama investigasi kecelakaan transportasi;<br \/>\nf. pelaksanaan evaluasi, pemantauan, klarifikasi, pengkajian, dan sosialisasi atas rekomendasi dalam laporan akhir investigasi kecelakaan transportasi; dan<br \/>\ng. penyelenggaraan sistem informasi investigasi kecelakaan transportasi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Keanggotaan KNKT terdiri atas satu orang ketua merangkap anggota, satu orang wakil ketua merangkap anggota, serta empat orang anggota.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cUntuk mendukung kelancaran pelaksanaan tugas KNKT dalam melakukan investigasi kecelakaan transportasi, KNKT dibantu oleh investigator,\u201d bunyi Perpres.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dalam melaksanakan tugas dan fungsi, KNKT bersifat mandiri atau independen, obyektif, dan profesional; bertanggung jawab atas obyektivitas dan kebenaran hasil investigasi kecelakaan transportasi; menaati ketentuan peraturan perundang-undangan; dan menjaga kerahasiaan data, dokumen, dan informasi investigasi kecelakaan transportasi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ketua,\u00a0 wakil\u00a0 ketua,\u00a0 dan\u00a0 anggota\u00a0 KNKT\u00a0 diangkat\u00a0 untuk masa jabatan\u00a0 empat tahun, terhitung sejak tanggal ditetapkannya keputusan presiden mengenai pengangkatan ketua, wakil ketua, dan anggota KNKT.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cKetua, wakil ketua, dan anggota KNKT dapat dipilih kembali melalui seleksi untuk satu kali masa jabatan berikutnya,\u201d ketentuan Perpres.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ketua KNKT menyampaikan laporan kepada presiden atas pelaksanaan tugasnya paling sedikit satu kali dalam satu tahun atau sewaktu-waktu jika diperlukan presiden. Selain itu, Ketua KNKT juga menyampaikan laporan kinerja akhir masa jabatan kepada presiden.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/jdih.setkab.go.id\/PUUdoc\/176789\/Perpres_Nomor_102_Tahun_2022.pdf\">Perpres 102\/2022<\/a> ini mulai berlaku pada tanggal diundangkan 15 Juli 2022.
