Wakil Presiden (Wapres) Ma\u2019ruf Amin mengadakan pertemuan bilateral dengan Perdana Menteri (PM) Mesir Mostafa Kamal Madbouly, Selasa (08\/11\/2022), di Paviliun Kantor PM Mesir, Sharm El Sheikh International Convention Centre (SHICC), Sharm El Sheikh. Dalam pertemuan yang berlangsung selama kurang lebih selama 60 menit tersebut, kedua pemimpin membahas berbagai isu, mulai dari perubahan iklim hingga kerja sama di bidang perdagangan dan pendidikan.<\/p>\n

Pada kesempatan tersebut, Wapres menyampaikan apresiasi atas peran Mesir dalam upaya global mengatasi isu iklim. Menurut Wapres, sebagai negara berkembang, Mesir dan Indonesia perlu terus mendorong perwujudan komitmen internasional dalam mengatasi isu global ini dari semua aspek.<\/p>\n

\u201cTermasuk pendanaan, peningkatan kapasitas, dan alih teknologi dari negara maju,\u201d tutur Wapres.<\/p>\n

Mesir menjadi tuan rumah bagi perhelatan Konferensi Tingkat Tinggi (KTT) Perubahan Iklim PBB Tahun 2022 (COP27). <\/p>\n

\u201cKepemimpinan Mesir pada COP27 dan Indonesia pada G20 menjadi momentum untuk menangani berbagai isu krusial terkait ekonomi dan lingkungan hidup,\u201d kata Wapres.<\/p>\n

Di bidang perdagangan, Wapres mengungkapkan, hubungan kerja sama antara kedua negara terus mengalami peningkatan. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari adanya kenaikan nilai perdagangan lebih dari 50 persen, mencapai 1.86 miliar Dolar Amerika Serikat (AS).<\/p>\n

Untuk semakin meningkatkan performa baik ini, kata Wapres, perlu segera ditindaklanjuti pembentukan Joint Trade Committee dan pengembangan Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) antarkedua negara.<\/p>\n

\u201cSaya mohon dukungan Yang Mulia agar nota kesepahaman Joint Trade Committee dapat segera ditandatangani dan inisiatif pembentukan PTA dapat segera dibahas,\u201d ujarnya.<\/p>\n

Selanjutnya di bidang pendidikan, Wapres mengungkapkan rasa terima kasih atas pemberian beasiswa serta fasilitas bagi pelajar dan mahasiswa Indonesia yang sedang menempuh studi di Mesir. Ke depan, Wapres berharap hubungan baik di bidang pendidikan ini dapat terus diperkuat dan semakin banyak mahasiswa Indonesia dapat belajar di Mesir dan sebaliknya.<\/p>\n

\u201cSaat ini terdapat lebih dari 10.300 mahasiswa Indonesia di Mesir. Saya berharap kerja sama kedua negara dapat terus diperkuat, termasuk dalam memberikan perlindungan bagi pelajar dan mahasiswa Indonesia di mesir,\u201d pungkasnya.<\/p>\n

Sementara itu, PM Kamal Madbouly menyampaikan, Mesir akan terus berupaya meningkatkan hubungan bilateral dengan Indonesia yang telah terjalin sejak lama, khususnya kerja sama di bidang ekonomi.<\/p>\n

\u201cKami juga dalam hal ini ingin menyampaikan apresiasi atas tercapainya penandatanganan dua MoU [memorandum of understanding\/<\/em>nota kesepahaman] pada kunjungan Menteri Luar Negeri Mesir ke Indonesia pada Maret lalu, yaitu MoU mengenai Pembentukan Sidang Komisi Bersama dan Kerja Sama Lingkungan Hidup,\u201d ujar PM Mesir.<\/p>\n

Selain itu, lanjut Kamal Madbouly, Mesir juga terus ingin mempererat jalinan kerja sama dalam bidang pendidikan. Banyaknya mahasiswa Indonesia di Mesir, kata Kamal Madbouly, merupakan suatu kebahagiaan bagi pemerintah dan masyarakat Mesir.<\/p>\n

\u201cKami memiliki Universitas Al-Azhar yang saat ini menampung banyak sekali mahasiswa Indonesia yang jumlahnya mencapai 11 ribu dan ini menjadi sumber kebahagiaan bagi kami,\u201d tandas PM Mesir.<\/p>\n
