(Photo: PR\/Jay)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Government officially announced the 14<sup>th<\/sup> Economic Policy Package on the E-Commerce Roadmap, Thursday (10\/11).<\/p>\n<p>Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution explained the purposes and benefits of the policy package, among others, are first to encourage the expansion and improvement of economic activities throughout Indonesia efficiently and globally connected.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So, the existing activities can be broader. The scope can reach farther with e-commerce,&#8221; Darmin told reporters at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Thursday (10\/11) afternoon. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Second, Darmin further explained, to stimulate creativity, innovation, and invention of new economic activities among the youth. Not only that is already exist becomes broader and more far-reaching, but with innovation, with the invention of new activities that can also be cretaed. &#8220;Particularly among the youth who have the pleasure in tinkering, looking for something new and so forth,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Third, to provide certainty and ease of doing business in the utilization of e-commerce. &#8220;With the direction and strategic guidance in accelerating the implementation of a national electronic-based trading system in the period of 2016-2019, the guidelines in this roadmap will also provide direction and ease to all interested parties then participate in these areas,&#8221; Darmin said.<\/p>\n<p>Fourth, to give priority and protect national interests and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), as well as start-ups.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Of course, with this roadmap, the MSMEs and start-ups would have activities which have the functions to encourage, facilitate, and provide supports to them so that it is easier for them to run businesses in the desired areas,&#8221; the Minister said while reiterating that the failure rate of such activity is so high that he needs the support.<\/p>\n<p>Next, according to the Minister, to improve the skills of e-commerce start-ups and a reference for the Government and all stakeholders in establishing or adjusting sectoral policies in order to develop e-commerce.<\/p>\n<p>\u0093What are the main points of the \u00a0policy; there are eight issues of the policy package which will be translated into a presidential regulation,\u0094 Darmin said.<\/p>\n<p>They are funding, taxation, consumer protection, education and human resources, logistics, communication infrastructure, cyber security, and the establishment of executive management. <strong>(SM\/ES) <\/strong>(<strong>MUR\/YM\/Naster<\/strong>)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Government officially announced the 14th Economic Policy Package on the E-Commerce Roadmap, Thursday (10\/11).
