National Intelligence Agency (BIN) has reported that there are 41,000 regulations which are overlapping, unnecessary, as well as contradicting. \u0093Those regulations will be evaluated and restructured so that the unnecessary and unimportant one will be eliminated,\u0094 Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Wiranto said after a Limited Meeting on the Follow-up Discussion on Law Reform on Tuesday (17\/1), at the Presidential Office, Jakarta. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Through the restructuring, Wiranto further said, hopefully it will bring certainty and clarity to the people about regulations considered as the right one and those considered no longer fits in today&#8217;s life.<\/p>\n<p>According to Wiranto, the Government will also focus to extend the reach of legal aid to the poor and marginalized so that they can be protected, get justice, and feel secured. The Government want people to get legal aid with affordable fee or even free when they face problems. \u0093Therefore, one measure will be taken to extend the reach of legal aid to the people who have been identified as less fortunate. The Government will pay more attention for those people so that they can get free legal aid,\u0094 Wiranto added.<\/p>\n<p>The Coordinating Minister asserted that the Government will also foster sense of security in the society by re-empowering and developing the Community Police (Polmas). \u0093It might be a way to develop early warning system in the society that will detect activities that lead to terrorism, and radicalism immediately,\u0094 Wiranto said adding that hopefully security personnels can take security measures more quickly. <strong>(RMI\/ES) (RAS\/MMB\/YM\/Naster)<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Government committed to carrying out law reform by sorting out regulations considered unnecessary and unimportant.
