President Joko \u0091Jokowi\u0092 Widodo said the Government has set a target of issuing 5 million land certificates this year, 7 million land certificates next year, and 9 million land certificates next two years.<\/p>\n

According to the President, previously the Government issued only around 400,000 \u0096 500,000 land certificates in a year all across Indonesia.<\/p>\n

\u0093In West Java alone, in a year there were only 50,000 \u0096 60,000 land certificates issued. This year, I\u0092ve set the target of the issuance of 370,000 land certificates in the Province. Let\u0092s not make it difficult. Next year, at least 500,000 land certificates in West Java must be issued,\u0094 the President said during a ceremony that symbolically presented 1,989 land certificates at Lapangan Ranggajati, Sumber District, Cirebon Regency, Thursday (13\/4). <\/p>\n

According to President Jokowi, a land certificate is the legal status of the land ownership rights that must be owned. He also said that it would be pointless to own land if one does not have a certificate as it can lead to a dispute or a conflict. Therefore, President Jokowi said the Government would continue pushing regional offices of the National Land Agency (BPN) to give fast and quick services for the people. \u0093Obtaining a land certificate must not be done in years. I\u0092ll definitely monitor it to see if there are officials who complicate the process,\u0094 the President said.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, to the residents who received the certificates on that occasion, President Jokowi reminded them to keep the certificates well by means of protecting it with plastic; so if their houses leak, the certificates will not be damaged. \u0093You must also have a copy of it. Store the original certificate inside a plastic pouch. Only the copy document that you can carry anywhere,\u0094 the President said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, if the residents want to use the land certificate (as collateral) to increase their capital, the President said it is alright to do so; yet, he reminded them to be carefully calculating it. \u0093You must be careful with the loan. If you cannot return it, your certificate will be gone. Please be careful. If you have Rp400 million and you spend Rp200 million to buy a car to look great, can you do so? Please don\u0092t. If you insist on buying a car, buy a pick-up car or a truck instead, the one with a high productivity, \u0093 the President said.<\/p>\n

For the record, those 1,989 land certificates were given to residents in Kuningan Regency, Cirebon Regency, Indramayu Regency, Majalengka Regency, Cirebon City, Ciamis Regency, Tasikmalaya City, Tasikmalaya Regency, Banjar City, Subang Regency, and Pangandaran Regency.<\/p>\n
