President Joko \u0091Jokowi\u0092 Widodo, on Saturday (3\/3), visited sneaker exhibition Jakarta Sneaker Day at a mall in South Jakarta.<\/p>\n

In addition to spending weekend with his family, the President used the opportunity to check out the development of Indonesian shoe industry and market, especially sneakers. \u0093I want to check out the trends. What are the market trends like? What kinds of shoes are in trend?\u0094 the President told journalists.<\/p>\n

Although the exhibition was dominated by foreign brand products, President Jokowi believes that Indonesian sneaker products are better and can compete in the international market. \u0093There were several pairs of shoes that are handmade\u00a0and the production details are very good,\u0094 the President said.<\/p>\n

Besides having a better quality, according to the President, prices of Indonesian sneaker products are also more competitive and this will further added-values for the products. \u0093We have to see the market trend. What designs does the market like? And what colors do the people like? At any price, if consumers love them, they will buy definitely,\u0094 the President said.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, President Jokowi also called on the people to join the Government in supporting and appreciating local products. \u0093Do buy local products,\u0094 the President said.<\/p>\n

President Jokowi also showed a pair of shoes with local brands that he purchased at Rp380,000. \u0093It\u0092s made in Bandung. Very good,\u0094 he said. In addition, the President also purchased jackets. \u0093I bought several pairs of shoes and jackets,\u0094 the President said.
