(Photo by: Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono stated that sections 3 and 4 of Pejagan-Pemalang toll road spanning 37 km from East Brebes to Pemalang are targeted to operate in May 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, on Eid Al-Fitr 2018 exodus\u00a0season, travelers who want to go to Semarang no longer exit on East Brebes Toll Gate, but they can continue to the 114.2 km Pemalang-Semarang toll road that will be operated functionally or no fees charged yet.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u0093We will try to make 2018 Eid Al-Fitr exodus better than last year. There is no more emergency lane this year. Functional roads have been hardened with concrete pavement or asphalt which quality is better than lean concrete<em>,\u0094<\/em>\u00a0the Minister said when inspecting the condition of Pemalang to Salatiga toll road, on Saturday (14\/4).<\/p>\n<p>The construction of Section 1 Pemalang-Pekalongan spanning 17 km is currently accelerated because it becomes the critical point of Pemalang-Batang segment with total length of 39.2 km. To overcome the problem of soft soil, the construction project uses Vacuum Consolidation Method technology<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The acceleration is carried out by increasing the intensity of landfill work from the 5 thousand m3 per day to 20 thousand m3 per day. The completed segment is stockpiled and continued by aggregate stonework.<\/p>\n<p>\u0093By mid-May we can start the asphalting and will be finished in two weeks. In early May 2018, I&#8217;ll be here again to inspect,\u0094 the Minister said.<\/p>\n<p>The project of Pemalang-Batang toll road is funded by PT. Pemalang Batang Toll Road whose shares are owned by PT. Waskita Karya and PT. Sumber Mitra Jaya.<\/p>\n<p>As for Batang-Semarang toll road that span along 75 km, the construction progress has reached 75.4 percent. At the inspection of the construction of Kali Kuto Bridge which becomes the critical point in the segment, Basuki \u00a0is optimistic that the road will be ready for Eid Al-Fitr exodus.<\/p>\n<p>\u0093One and a half months ago I came here; the building under the bridge has not been standing. Now it is and at the 3rd week of April we will begin the installation of steel frame arch bridge, so I can be more optimistic that it can be used for the exodus,\u0094 Basuki said.<\/p>\n<p>The project is funded by investment of PT. Jasa Marga Batang-Semarang which shares owned by PT. Jasamarga and PT. Sumber Mitra Jaya. In the meantime, the construction of this toll road is fully carried out by PT. Waskita Karya.<\/p>\n<p>On 29 March 2018, at the inauguration of Ngawi-Wilangan Toll Road, President Joko \u0093Jokowi\u0094 Widodo extended his directive to complete Trans Java toll roads. Thus, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing is now focusing on finishing this project so the road from Merak Port to Banyuwangi will be connected by the end of 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Also accompanied the Minister were Director General of Road Development Arie Setiadi Murwanto, Director of Traffic of Central Java Police Sr. Comr. Bakharuddin, Managing Director of PT. Jasa Marga Desi Ariyani, Director of Operational 2 of PT. Atmawidjaja.
