Ministry of State Secretariat held the 2017 Innovation Awards at the Krida Bhakti Building of the Ministry of State Secretariat, on Tuesday (10\/4) morning.<\/p>\n

Attended by its high ranking officials, the event was staged to appreciate innovations in the field of work and service performance by the Ministry\u0092s officials in 2017. <\/p>\n

Apart from its main purpose to appreciate the officials\u0092 work, the event was also conducted to inspire and motivate other officials to design and develop new innovations in 2018 to accelerate each task and function\u0092s performance.<\/p>\n

In his speech, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno said that working hard is really not enough, it must be completed with smart work, \u0093work demand is increasing, work load is getting bigger, we must accomplished it with smart work,\u0094 the Minister stressed.<\/p>\n

The high demand of work in industry revolution 4.0 requires officials to improve their abilities by utilizing artificial intelligence namely digitalization, computing power, and big data analytics. \u0093By utilizing artificial intelligence, work could be performed fast, real time, and efficient. If work could have done by machine rapidly, why must it be manually performed?\u0094 Pratikno said during his briefing to all the Ministry\u0092s officials. On the occasion, the Minister emphasized that smart work could realize a maximum performance and potential of officials focusing on strategic ideas rather than undertaking technical works.<\/p>\n

The innovations are a form of strategic efforts to reach a maximum Ministry\u0092s performance to be more effective and to decrease daily mistakes.<\/p>\n

The choosing of the 2017 Innovation Award winners as an annual event has been taken seriously. Innovation Judges led by Abdul Aziz, Special Staff to the Minister of State Secretary on Governance, set stages to pass through winners choice, namely innovation filtering of which is a new innovation, providing solutions (service improvement, beneficial, efficient), and has been performed; as well as innovator\u0092s explanations and innovation judgments by value evaluation (new, beneficial, sustainable, and replicable).<\/p>\n

From 106 selected innovations, 45 were chosen to enter the best innovations judgments of 8 general and special categories. After a tight assessment, 22 innovations won the 2017 Innovation Award and 5 high ranking officials involved in developing the Ministry\u0092s innovation was earned special award.<\/p>\n

The idea for innovations originated from the innovators itself. From personal ideas, then it developed by themselves or by vendor; there were collaboration both intra-division and inter-division.<\/p>\n

In the future, other innovation products of the Ministry must be well-formulated comprising its endurance, consistency, sustainability, and adjustment.<\/p>\n

Innovation appreciation is expected to be a receptacle of emerging new ideas in order to actualize Bureaucratic Reform in the Ministry, a bureaucratic system that is one single measureable, standardize, far from corruption behavior.
