President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, accompanied by Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, visited Sinta Nuriyah Abdurrahman Wahid, wife of the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia, the late K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid –Colloquially known as Gus Dur–, at Ciganjur, Jakarta, Friday (7\/9).<\/p>\n

President Jokowi was greeted by Mrs. Nuriyah, her daughter Yenny Wahid, the former Chief of the Protocol Bureau during the administration of President Abdurrahman Wahid Wahyu Muryadi, and several Madurese figures who were present at Gus Dur\u0092s house.
\n<\/p>\n

On the Ocassion, President Jokowi said that he has visited Gus Dur’s house three times before. “If I am not mistaken, this is my fourth visit,” the President told journalists, adding that his visit was to honor 78th birthday of Gus Dur.<\/p>\n

The President also said that he is glad knowing Sinta Nuriyah Wahid in good health.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, Sinta Nuriyah Wahid said that President Jokowi regularly visits community leaders, and religious leaders. Nuriyah further said that she always prays for the President and wishes him all the best<\/p>\n

For the record, Abdurrahman Wahid served as the President of Indonesia from 1999 to 2001, the first elected Indonesian President after resignation of President Soeharto. Abdurrahman Wahid was also the chairman of Nahdlatul Ulama from 1984 until 1999.<\/p>\n
