President Joko \u0093Jokowi\u0094 Widodo attended the 2018 Reunion of the Alumni of Gadjah Mada University (Kagama) at Cendrawasih Hall, Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Jakarta, Saturday (22\/9).<\/p>\n

Arriving at 12:20 a.m. Western Indonesian Time, President Jokowi was greeted by Chairman of the Kagama Ganjar Pranowo, who is also Governor of Central Java.
\n<\/p>\n

The participants of the 2018 Kagama Reunion were entertained by Elek Yo Band that consists of Cabinet Ministers of the current Working Cabinet.<\/p>\n

President Jokowi said in his remarks that he had prepared himself to sing with the band, but finally did not make it. \u0093I think I cannot make it\u0094 the President said to the laughter of the participants.<\/p>\n

President Jokowi jokingly said that the Elek Yo Band puts on a terrible performance and has to practice more regularly. “If you watch the band\u0092s live performance, you won\u0092t notice the mistakes that it makes, but when you watch the band\u0092s performance on television you will realize that it puts on a terrible performance,\u0094 President Jokowi said, adding that the members of the band do not have enough time to practice since they had overwhelming workload as Ministers.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, President Jokowi – an alumnus of UGM himself – invited a number of Kagama members to share their stories about the old days when they were students at the University.<\/p>\n

Also present during the event were Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Transportation Budi K. Sumadi, Minister of Education and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan, and Rector of the UGM Panut Mulyono.
