As part of the Government\u0092s agrarian reform program, President Joko \u0093Jokowi\u0094 Widodo on Tuesday (9\/25) at Pakansari Stadium, Bogor, West Java, handed over 3,000 land certificates to residents in Bogor Regency and 4,000 certificates to residents in Bogor City.<\/p>\n

In his remarks, the President said that the Government should have submitted 126 million certificates to the people throughout Indonesia; yet, until the end of 2015, only 46 million certificates had been distributed.
\n<\/p>\n

“I have checked (the data) at the National Land Agency (BPN). It says that there were only 500,000-600,000 certificates distributed throughout the country every year. Based on my calculation, we have to wait for 160 years before all the remaining certificates can be distributed,” the President added.<\/p>\n

Therefore, the President went on to say, the Government has been accelerating the distribution of land certificates: 5 million land certificates were distributed in 2017, 7 million in 2018, and 9 million in 2019 (estimated).<\/p>\n

President Jokowi further said that during his visit to several regions in Indonesia, the people often complain about land dispute; thus, to solve the problem, his administration is committed to accelerating the land certification process through the agrarian reform program.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, President Jokowi reminded the residents who received the certificates to keep the certificates in a safe place. \u00a0“Please be careful. These certificates are legal evidence of your land ownership,” President Jokowi said.<\/p>\n

President Jokowi also reminded those who want to use their certificates as loan collateral in the banks to calculate the installments. “If you want to use your certificate as loan collateral, please calculate the installments. Use every penny of it as working capital,\u0094 the President said.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning\/Head of the National Land Agency (BPN) Sofyan Djalil reported that at least 1,270,000 land certificates would be distributed in West Java province this year.<\/p>\n

“For Bogor Regency, we target to distribute 80,750 certificates this year, while for Bogor City, we will distribute 60,000 certificates,” Sofyan said, adding that all parcels of land in two districts in Bogor City have been certified.<\/p>\n

“Next year we will certify all remaining parcels of land in Bogor City. As for Bogor Regency, since it is very large, all of its parcels of land will be certified by 2025,” he added.<\/p>\n
