The Attorney General Office said that law enforcement process is different from the industrial process, in which in industrial process, the more it produces, the better.<\/p>\n

However, in law enforcement, the Attorney General Office calls on the public to change the mindset on how to reduce crime rates and improve welfare of the people.<\/p>\n

\u0093This is our joint commitment to successfully enforce the law,\u0094 Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence Dr. Jan S. Maringka said at a thematic forum event of the Coordinating Agency for Community Relations (Bakohumas<\/em>) adopting the theme \u0093Menjaga NKRI Melalui Program Jaksa Menyapa dan Situs Jaga Negeri<\/em>\u0094 (Safeguarding the Unitary State of the Republic Indonesia Through the Prosecutor Greeting Program and Safeguarding the Country Site), at Century Athlete Hotel, Jakarta, Tuesday (25\/9).<\/p>\n

According to Maringka, intelligence is no longer frightening; rather, it functions as a unifier, unites, creates a sense of security, and is able to change image of the Attorney General Office from the one that prosecutes and arrests people to becoming an institution able to improve public awareness.<\/p>\n

\u0093We no longer take a defensive approach. Law enforcement is not about captures but we also invite people to be aware of the law, especially with existing programs,\u0094 Maringka said.<\/p>\n

To improve law awareness, Maringka continued, at the 2017 Attorney General Office National Working Meeting, the \u0093Jaksa Menyapa<\/em>\u0094 (Hello Attorney) program was launched in cooperation with the Radio Republik Indonesia\/RRI (state radio network of Indonesia), starting January 2018 and airs nationally on Thursdays.<\/p>\n

He added that the Attorney General Office has also launched a website called \u0093Jaga Negeri<\/em>\u0094 (Protect the Nation) that contains featured activities that will introduce to the public about the Attorney General Office.<\/p>\n

Important menus on the site include Government Safety and Development Guard team (TP4) and the Tabur<\/em> (Responding Fugitive) 31.1. program.<\/p>\n

Through the site, according to Maringka, the public can also file reports should they find actions that can potentially harm the national unity and serve as early detection of crime through people\u0092s reports.<\/p>\n

“If there is no participation and information from the public, it will be difficult for us to work because we only have tens of thousands personnel all over Indonesia. With these programs, we hope we can protect and defend the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and maintain the unity,\u0094 Maringka said.<\/p>\n

Another program, Tabur <\/em>31.1, is a fugitive catching program through which the public can easily see the law and the duties of the Attorney General Office.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, Chairman of the Bakohumas<\/em> Rosarita Niken Widiastuti expressed appreciation for the Jaksa<\/em> Menyapa<\/em> program. \u0093The Attorney General Office has chosen to collaborate with RRI for the program to greet people because the radio station covers all regions in the country,\u0094 Niken said, adding that the other programs are also excellent to be disseminated through the Jaksa Menyapa<\/em> program because this is not only informative but is also an innovative activity.<\/p>\n

\u0093With the Jaksa Menyapa <\/em>program, the public will better understand main tasks and functions of the Attorney General Office and they can also raise their legal awareness,\u0094 Niken added.<\/p>\n
