therefore the government had to choose.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u0093The government decided to conduct the fuel subsidized diversion from consumptive sector to productive sectors,\u0094 President Jokowi said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">President continued, as the consequences of the diversion, the government had thought about the impacts and further plans. \u0093For the poor people, there will be social protections in the form of Healthy Indonesia Card (Kartu Indonesia Sehat-KIS), Bright Indonesian Card (<i>Kartu Indonesia Pintar<\/i>-KIP) and Prosperous Family Card (<i>Kartu Keluarga Sejahtera<\/i>-KKS) that can be used to maintain the people purchasing power,\u0094 Jokowi said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">President realized that the policy to diverse the subsidy by rising this fuel price will cause debates, pro and contra opinions but the government can appreciate it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">President expected the subsidized fuel diversion is the opening way to bring more benefits for all Indonesian people.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>IDR 100 trillion<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile Financial Minister <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/WzZQkGxkuPA\">\u00a0Bambang Brojonegoro<\/a>\u00a0answered the journalist\u0092s question by saying that the fuel price hike will give IDR 100 trillion additional productive expenditure for the government.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u0093The productive expenditures will go to infrastructures, some of them will strengthen the social protection for poor and almost poor families, and the most important thing is to realize the vision of President Jokowi including the development in maritime sector,\u0094 Bambang said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">National Development Planning Minister <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/WzZQkGxkuPA\">Andrinov Chaniag<\/a>o added that the additional budget from subsidized fuel diversion is to improve the food production. \u0093It will be used to repair the broken irrigation and build the new irrigation, and Insya Allah in the next three years we will able to be self-sufficiency in rice,\u0094 he uttered.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition, according to Andrinov, the additional budget from the subsidy diversion will be used to improve energy production by accelerating the realization of power plan development, and also for maritime and marine sectors, road developments and repairs, and also the new roads that prioritize the people interest which is to be the more productive people.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Financial Minister <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/WzZQkGxkuPA\">\u00a0Bambang Brojonegoro<\/a>\u00a0admitted that the policy to raise the subsidized fuel price will bring inflation impacts and it had been calculated by the government.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the earlier prediction, with IDR 2.000\/liter hike whether for premium and diesel fuel, according to Financial Minister, the inflation prediction for this 2014 will rise for 2 percent. \u0093So, if the predicted inflation is 5,3 percent then it will be 7,3 percent in 2014,\u0094 Financial Minister said it by admitting that the inflation impact will still affect on January and February 2015.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Financial Minister also expected the deficit in 2014 that was earlier predicted for 2,2 percent can be controlled under the 2,2 percent..<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Regarding the consultation with the House of Representatives about this fuel price hike, Financial Minister affirmed that in the Law of 2014 State Budget Revision, there is not even one article that stated the government should consult with the House of Representatives about the subsidized fuel diversion.\u00a0<b>(WID\/ES)<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in the Merdeka Palace Jakarta on Monday evening announced that starting on Tuesday at 00.00 a.m. local time, the government rose the subsidized fuel price in premium type from IDR 6.500\/liter to IDR 8.500, while the diesel fuel also rose from IDR 5.500\/liter to 7.500\/liter.
