The barrack will also be equipped with public toilets, kitchens and other household facilities. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u0093As of today\u0092s calculation, the Government is planning to build 1,200 temporary housing units in 12 locations. However, the number may change, depending on the number of misplaced residents,\u0094 Wiranto said after holding a Limited Coordination Meeting at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Politics, Law and Security, Jakarta, Monday (10\/15).<\/p>\n<p>According to Wiranto, there are currently 65,000 misplaced residents in the quake-hit regions and only half of them &#8211; or around 30,000 people &#8211; can return to their homes, which are not destroyed.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono said that the housing is only temporary until permanent housing and relocation area is completely rebuilt. The construction of the housing is targeted to be completed in 2 months in Palu City, Sigi regency and Donggala regency, he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u0093Three prospective relocation sites for residential areas are in Palu City, namely Duyu, Tondo and Pombewe sub-district,\u0094 Basuki, adding that the 1,200 temporary housing units would be able to accommodate 14,400 families.<\/p>\n<p>The unit, he said, is built with a knockdown model measuring 12 x 26.4 square meters and divided into 12 rooms with one family each.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Chairperson of the Central Sulawesi Disaster Management Task Force of Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing Arie Setiadi Murwanto explained that the housing would be built with a cluster system in five zones considering land availability and security factors. \u0093Each cluster consists of 10 units (120 rooms each) and will be provided with one pre-school and one elementary school, a trash bin, an open space for community activities and a motorcycle parking lot,\u0094 Arie said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that each unit is built with quake-resistant design and can accommodate extremely hot weather in Palu. It will also be equipped with 4 toilets, 4 bathrooms, septic tanks, laundry area, and a shared kitchen and 450-watts power electricity per room, he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u0093This housing can be occupied for two years until the permanent housing built by the Government is completed,\u0094 Arie said.<\/p>\n<p>For the record, the housing locations are in Duyu, Petobo and Pengawu Sub-district and several football fields in Silae, Tipo, Tipo A, Buluri, Watusampu, and Kawatuna Sub-district.
