The Government made the policy as a response to the public demand for urban village fund, according to President Joko \u0093Jokowi\u0094 Widodo.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Starting next year, the Government will allocate budget for urban village in urban areas. I received many requests for urban village fund beside the existing village fund program,\u0094 the President said when attending the 20<sup>th<\/sup> National Workshop on Appropriate Technology (TTG) and Innovation Week of Village and Urban Village Development (PINDesKel), Friday (19\/10).<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>President Jokowi further said that he will issue policies to regulate the use and function of village funds in order to make it more effective and efficient. He added that the Government Regulation related to this matter will soon be amended.<\/p>\n<p>President Jokowi also expressed hope that the policy will encourage all Government apparatus to carry out their supervisory functions properly so that village fund and urban village fund can make real impact on the people.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I ask the Governors, Regents, Mayors, Deputy Governors, Deputy Regents, Deputy Mayors to monitor the village fund to make sure that it really benefits the people,\u0094 the President said.<\/p>\n<p>The President went on to say that the budget allocation for village fund has been increasing every year: Rp20 trillion in 2015, Rp47 trillion in 2016, Rp60 trillion in 2017 and Rp60 trillion 2018.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Next year the budget (for village fund) will be approximately Rp70 trillion, waiting for approval from the Parliament,&#8221; President Jokowi concluded.<\/p>\n<p>Also present during the event were First Lady Ibu Iriana Joko Widodo, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Home Affairs Tjahjo Kumolo, Minister of Villages, Underdeveloped Regions and Transmigration Eko Putro Sandjojo, and Governor of Bali I Wayan Koster.<\/p>\n<p>(<strong>BPMI\/EN<\/strong>)<strong> (RI\/LW\/Naster) <\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Indonesian Government will allocate budget for urban village (kelurahan) next year.
