President Joko \u0093Jokowi\u0094 Widodo and First Lady Ibu <\/em>Iriana Jokowi attended commemoration of birthday of the Great Prophet Muhammad and Haul<\/em> (death anniversary) of Sheikh Abdul Qodir Al Jailani, at Al Baghdadi Islamic Boarding School, Rengasdengklok, Karawang, West Java, Saturday (19\/1).<\/p>\n

The President told the participants attending the event that Indonesia is a great country with more than 260 million people living in 17 thousand islands, 514 regencies and municipalities, and 34 provinces.
\n
\n“On this good occasion, I want to remind all of us that this nation is a great nation; Indonesia is a great nation; the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia is a great nation,” the President said.<\/p>\n

President Jokowi added that Indonesia is blessed by God with diversity, ranging from ethnic groups, religions, customs, traditions, to regional languages.<\/p>\n

Therefore, the President invited all parties to continue to maintain unity, brotherhood and national harmony and not let the differences destroy the national solidarity.<\/p>\n

President Jokowi further called on the public not to let different political choices, both in local and national elections, become conflict. He also reminded the public to use \u0093a clear conscience and a clear mind\u0094 in making political choices.<\/p>\n

“If there is an election, let\u0092s say a regent election, you should vote the candidates based on their achievements, track records, programs, ideas, and platforms,” the President concluded.<\/p>\n
