Indonesia\u0092s Corruption Perception Index scored at 38 in 2018, a significance increase from 34 in 2014, President Joko \u0093Jokowi\u0094 Widodo has said.<\/p>\n

The President also expressed appreciation to all parties for the hard work and efforts in combating corruption in the past four years. <\/p>\n

Surveys done by the Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) and the Indonesian Corruption Watch (ICW) show that public services have also been increasingly free from illegal levy practices.<\/p>\n

During the course of 2016 – 2018, prevalence of illegal levies in health service fell from 14 percent to five percent and in civil registration services fell from 31 percent to 17 percent.<\/p>\n

\u0093It is our hope that there will be no more illegal levies in the country. Therefore, we must work faster and be more active in combating corruption,\u0094 the President said in his remarks during the handover of Corruption Prevention Action Document for 2019-2020 and the Report on the Implementation of the 2019 National Corruption Prevention Strategy, at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (13\/3).<\/p>\n

The President asserted that corruption is the nation\u0092s common enemy, a disease which undermines people\u0092s welfare, a wall that prevents the nation from moving forward and from materializing the aspirations of the Indonesian nation.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, the President also lauded fast actions taken by the National Team for Corruption Prevention to ensure immediate implementation of the National Strategy for Corruption Prevention as\u00a0mandated in Presidential Regulation Number 54 of 2018.<\/p>\n

\u0093No more ministerial ego, sectoral ego. The entire Indonesian people want to be free from corruption,\u0094 the President said, adding that the Presidential Regulation embodies the spirit and the collaboration to make Indonesia free from corruption.<\/p>\n

President Jokowi also noted that the National Strategy for Corruption is focused on three matters, among others, licensing and trade procedures, state finance, and the rule of law and bureaucratic reforms, adding that there has been progress made such as the implementation of the online single submission (OSS) and one map policies, integration of budget planning, integration of the rule of law and eradication of judicial mafia.<\/p>\n

The President also confirmed what was conveyed by Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Agus Rahardjo that e-planning and \u00a0e-budgeting had not all been systemized in one platform application.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, President Jokowi also handed over a National Corruption Prevention Strategy document to Attorney General Prasetyo and Deputy Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Archandra Tahar.<\/p>\n
