\"28Mei\"<\/a>Ahead of this year\u0092s mudik<\/em> (annual exodus ahead of Eid Day), Ministry of Transportation has facilitated and ensured the readiness of Eid transportation modes by carrying out Ramp Check on vehicles, providing free mudik<\/em> programs, be it by bus, train or ship, establishing Eid integrated post, and introducing policies to limit goods transported during mudik<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In ensuring safety and security aspects of land transportation ahead of this year\u0092s Eid Day, the Ministry has been carrying out Ramp Check across the country. For vehicles that have been checked, they will be given with roadworthy sticker that reads \u0093INSPEKSI KESELAMATAN LLAJ DITJEN HUBDAT \u0096 KEMENHUB\u0094 (safety inspection of the Directorate General of Land Transportation- Ministry of Transportation).<\/p>\n

The programs cover technical examination\/checking to the vehicles and administrative documents of drivers and vehicles, information dissemination to the vehicles\u0092 owners and drivers on the equipment that must be available in the vehicles and various permits that must be completed before driving, and providing roadworthy stickers for those that have passed the test and declared roadworthy.<\/p>\n

The Ramp Check has been conducted from 9 April to 26 April 2019 on trains in 101 stations, while Ramp Check on Eid Transportation and 50,000 buses in Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) has been conducted from 30 April to 24 Mei 2019 in 9 Main Terminals (Pulo Gebang, Kalideres, Kp. Rambutan, Tj. Priok, Bekasi, Baranangsiang, Jatijajar, Poris Plawad and Pondok Cabe). In addition, Ramp Check on sea transportation was conducted from 12 April to 17 May 2019 to 1,293 ships.<\/p>\n

The Ministry also takes preventive measures to monitor the implementation of mudik<\/em> by establishing the 2019 National Coordinating Post for Integrated Eid Transportation to be in operation from 28 May 2017 (seven days before Eid Day) at 8 a.m. Western Indonesian Time to 13 June 2019 (seven days after Eid Day) at 12 p.m. Western Indonesian Time, located at Mataram Room, the Ministry\u0092s Headquarters, Jakarta.<\/p>\n

In the Coordinating Post, the Ministry also teams up with the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT), state-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura I and II, state-owned toll road operator Jasa Marga, state-owned insurance company Jasa Raharja, the Indonesian Flight Navigation Service Institution (LPPNPI), state-owned port operator Pelindo, state-owned seaport operator ASDP Indonesia Ferry, state-owned bus operator Perum Damri, the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas), the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub), the Radio of the Indonesian People (RAPI), the Indonesian Amateur Radio Organization (ORARI), Intregated Communication Network partnership with the Police, and other related institutions.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, to reduce motorbike accidents during mudik, <\/em>the Ministry provided free mudik <\/em>program, be it by bus, train or ship.\u00a0 There are 1,243 buses that can accommodate 59,664 people, <\/em>and 119 trucks to transport 5,355 motorbikes before and after Eid Day.<\/p>\n

The free buses will depart from 5 locations; the National Logistics Agency (Bulog) Office I Jakarta, on Thursday (30\/5), Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi on Friday (31\/5), and Silang Monas (the Monument National square) Jakarta on Friday (31\/5) at 5 p.m. Western Indonesian Time and Saturday (1\/6) at 8 a.m.<\/p>\n

The buses head to a number of regions in Java and Sumatra, among others, Cirebon, Banjarpatoman, via Tasikmalaya and Ciamis, Kuningan, Slawi via Tegal, Pemalang, Pekalongan, Semarang, Demak, Jepara, Kudus, Pati, Blora, Purwodadi, Salatiga, Boyolali, Solo, Sragen, Klaten, Wonogiri, Wonosari, Yogyakarta, Magelang, Temanggung, Wonosobo, Kebumen, Purwokerto, Banjarnegara, Cilacap, Madiun, Tuban, Mojokerto, Kediri, Malang, Pacitan, Lampung, Palembang, and Padang.<\/p>\n

In addition, the Ministry also provides three free roll on roll off (Ro-Ro) ships bound for Semarang and Lampung that will accommodate 1,000 motorbikes and 2,000 passengers. The Ro-Ro ships will depart from Tanjung Priok Seaport on 1 June 2019. Meanwhile, there are also free ships en route from Jakarta to Semarang that can accommodate 15,000 passengers and 7,500 motorbikes. Before Eid Day, the ships will depart on Saturday (1\/6), and return two days after Eid Day on Saturday (8\/6).<\/p>\n
