It takes 6 hours from Jakarta to Semarang 8 hours from Jakarta to Solo, and less than 10 hours from Jakarta Surabaya. This is very encouraging especially for <em>mudik<\/em> travellers. The public are satisfied because this year\u0092s <em>mudik <\/em>traffic has been smooth,\u0094 he added.<\/p>\n<p>Budi added that this year\u0092s success is not only the result of infrastructure development but also of good cooperation among stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>\u0093I appreciate cooperation between the Central Government, the Indonesian National Police, and regional governments that take part in making this year\u0092s mudik traffic a success. They work really well. For example, this year we did not find any roadside markets (that usually cause traffic). Even Nagrek area that is usually hit by congestion is congestion-free this year,\u0094 he said.<\/p>\n<p>On that occasion, Budi also urged <em>mudik<\/em> travellers to return to Jakarta is on 6 or 7.<\/p>\n<p>\u0093The peak the Eid reverse exodus traffic is predicted to happen on 8 and 9 June. It means that measures that we have taken to smooth this year\u0092s <em>mudik<\/em> traffic and to improve safety aspect have been successful,\u0094 Budi said.<\/p>\n<p>On that occasion, Budi added that regulating toll roads, reducing <em>mudik<\/em> travellers travelling by motorcycles through free <em>mudik<\/em> program as well as <em>ramp check<\/em>\u00a0on buses have reduced the number of traffic accidents. However, Budi reminded mudik travellers to remain vigilant especially when returning to Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>\u0093We are usually tired after returning from holidays. Do stay fit. Have some rest if you are tired,\u0094 he said.<\/p>\n<p>Quoting data from the National Police Traffic Corps, Budi statd that the number of traffic accidents this year is 336 cases, as opposed to that in 2018 at 831 cases. \u00a0He added that the number of fatalities this year is 74 people, as opposed to that in 2918 at 178 people.<\/p>\n<p>\u0093The number of people suffering from severe injuries this year reaches 53 people, while in 2018, it was 175 people. As for the number of people suffering from minor injuries this year reaches 351 people, while last year the number stood at 1,082 people,\u0094 he added.
