(Photo by: Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing PR).<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Government is set to complete the construction of the 61-km Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan (Cisumdawu) toll road in West Java province by the end of next year, according to Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono.<\/p>\n<p>The toll road, which is divided into six sections, is expected to improve connectivity to Kertajati International airport, which begun operating last month.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u0093With the operation of the Kertajati airport, the toll road is very much awaited because of its significant benefits,\u0094 Basuki said while inspecting construction progress of the roll road in Sumedang, West Java, Tuesday (2\/7).<\/p>\n<p>According to the Minister, the first and second sections spanning 27.62 km starting from Cileunyi to Sumedang are constructed by the Ministry as part of the viability gap fund (VGF) to increase the feasibility of investment in the toll road.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, the construction of the third to sixth sections spanning 32.65 km is carried out by PT. Citra Karya Jabar Tol &#8211; a toll road business agency &#8211; with an investment value of Rp8.41 trillion, he added.<\/p>\n<p>For the progress of land acquisition, in section 1 Cileunyi-Rancakalong (10.57 km) it has reached 68.53 percent and the construction progress has reached 32.1 percent, while section 2 (17.05 km) of phase I of Rancakalong-Ciherang was completed in 2017 and phase II of Ciherang-Sumedang land acquisition process has reached 92.2 percent and the construction progress has reached 69.14 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Basuki has also coordinated with Ministry of the Environment and Forestry to speed up land acquisition in section 6 of the Ujungjaya &#8211; Dawuan section (6.07 Km) where most of the lands belong to state-owned forestry company PT Perhutani.<\/p>\n<p>If all of the Cisumdawu Toll Road sections have been operated plus provincial roads (74 km), the toll road can cut travel distance between Bandung and Kertajati airport compared to the Bandung-Jatibarang-Kertajati (231 km) or via Cipularang-Cipali-provincial roads (135 km), Basuki added.<\/p>\n<p>The operation of the Cisumdawu toll road is also expected to increase connectivity between the southern and northern West Java because it connects the Purbaleunyi toll road and the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road. <strong>(BKP Kementerian PUPR\/ES)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Translated by: Galuh Wicaksono<br \/>\nEdited by: Muhardi\/Muhammad Ersan Pamungkas<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Government is set to complete the construction of the 61-km Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan (Cisumdawu) toll road in West Java province by the end of next year, according to Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono.
