(Photo by: Ministry of PANRB PR)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Minister of of National Development Planning (PPN)\/Head of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) Bambang Brojonegoro urged all civil servants to be computer-literate since technology development has changed the bureaucratic process from paper-based administrative to electronic government (e-government).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnlike my generation, younger generation like you must acquire computer literacy and know how to use the latest technology,\u201d Bambang said in his speech as an inspiring speaker at the 2019 Presidential Lecture, at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (25\/7).<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>On that occasion, the Minister told 6,198 Civil Servant Candidates (CPNS) attending the event that implementation of e-government or the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) has pushed civil servants to meet four demands of the public.<\/p>\n<p>They are among others implementing smart government by optimizing the use of information and digital technologies, implementing open government in which the public can see the output of civil servants, implementing data-driven approaches in policy making where the Government fulfills the aspirations of the people that are posted on social media and provides the best services to them, and adopting to the change in culture of work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCivil servant\u2019s culture of work is to serve the people. Let\u2019s say you are working at the private sector and you do not work hard, you can be fired or you may make the company to suffer financial loss. Thus, culture shifting means giving your best in any aspects during work,\u201d Bambang explained.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister also called on civil servants to be flexible, adaptive, and to get rid of the so-called \u2018sectoral ego\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCivil servants must be leaders who can embrace all layers of society.
