(Photo: PR of KSP)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP) Moeldoko promised to help resolve the problem faced by Romi Syofpa Ismail, a dentist who was disqualified as a Candidate of Civil Servant (CPNS) in South Solok Regency, West Sumatra Province due to her disability.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are trying to find alternative solutions, from the regulatory side as well as from the appropriateness,&#8221; Moeldoko said when receiving Romi at Bina Graha Building, Jakarta, Thursday (1\/8).<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Moeldoko underlined that Romi\u2019s case is not represent the view of the whole Government; instead it was a personal view (from the regional government).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Office of the Presidential staff is very active in fighting for the rights of people with disabilities. It has been shown by our continuous support and presence in numerous disabled-related activities,\u201d said Moeldoko.<\/p>\n<p>He added that Romi should be grateful because a lot of people show their empathy and sympathy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Despite the decision, she should be grateful for all the supports and sympathy from the public\u201d Moeldoko said.<\/p>\n<p>For the record, doctor Romi\u2019s case was started by her disqualification as a civil servant candidate due to her health condition, whereas since 2015 she had been working as a contract dentist in South Solok\u2019s community health center. After giving birth to her second child in 2016 she became paraplegic and since then she works in a wheelchair. In 2018, she took a civil service exam and passed the test with the highest score. However, the South Solok Regency selection committee annulled her candidacy because she was considered physically unfit.<\/p>\n<p>The Indonesian Dentist Association (PDGI) who followed this case assumed acts of injustice. &#8220;We asked the Government to return her rights as a civil servant in South Solok Regency,&#8221; said Ahmad Syaukani from the PDGI.
