(Photo by: Ministry of Finance PR)<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Government has assessed the possibility of a second tax amnesty program following the first program conducted in July 2016 to December 2017.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWe are considering every option and will asses the situation,\u201d Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani said during the Kadin Talks hosted by Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin)\u00a0 Rosan Roeslani at Kadin Lounge, Jakarta, Friday (2\/8).<span id=\"more-164813\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The consideration to launch a second Tax Amnesty program, according to the Minister, was based on numerous requests from entrepreneurs who skip the first program.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThey asked the Government to launch another tax amnesty,\u201d Sri Mulyani said, adding that the second tax amnesty must be carried out with full preparation since the first program\u2019s participation was very low with only a million taxpayers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to her, the first program involved incomplete data and lack of information exchange. \u201cIn the past, I did not know the exact data of the taxpayers. Now, Automatic Exchange of Information (AEoI) is available,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With the implementation of open system and in collaboration with 90 countries, the Minister stated, the Government can now easily track taxpayers\u2019 asset information.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On the occasion, Sri Mulyani also said that entrepreneurs are partners of the Government and it is expected that entrepreneurs do not see the Government as a disruption to their business. The Government sees the entrepreneurs as engines of economic growth.
