In the series of celebration of the 74th<\/sup> Anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, a number of Indonesian young talents performed in Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Young Talent show at the State Palace, Jakarta, Friday (23\/8) night.<\/p>\n

Although President Joko \u2018Jokowi\u2019 Widodo could not watch the show, the President spared his time to meet and took picture with the performers who come from a number of regions across the country.<\/p>\n

Head of the Creative Economy Agency (BEKRAF) Triawan Munaf in his remarks extended the President\u2019s apology for not able to see the show because he has to attend another event. \u201cHowever, the President said that when the show is broadcasted on television, he will watch it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

According to him, the show showcased diversity, such as age, background, and profession that reflect Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (unity in diversity).<\/p>\n

\u201cOur diversity is our wealth. In the future, Indonesian young generation will perform in various shows reflecting our cultural richness,\u201d Head of the BEKRAF further said, adding that their talent and capacity will also be developed and they will be given opportunity to perform abroad.<\/p>\n

After the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Young Talent show, those young artists are also scheduled to be involved in events organized by the Presidential Palace to celebrate the proclamation of Indonesian independence.<\/p>\n

Young talents who perform in the show were, among others, Gita Bumi Voices, gold medalist of Grand Prix of Nations and 4th<\/sup> European Choir Games 2019 in Gothenberg, Sweden; Dian Sorowea, a singer from East Nusa Tenggara whose YouTube channel has hundred millions of viewers; Josephine Alexandra, a guitarist of Finger Style Indonesia; Prisca Yosevine, a young bass player; Kafin Sulthan, a young musician; Adikara Fardy, a singer who is known to the public because of his YouTube channel; Faye Risakotta, a singer from Maluku who started to sing and write song lyrics since 7 years old.<\/p>\n

Other performers on the show were RND Hip Hop Generation, a young rap group from Rote Island; Alvin Klod, a young drummer who gets sponsored by an international drum brand; Ray Prasetya, a young drummer who played as a session drummer at the Opening and Closing Ceremony of the 2018 Asian Games; Ronald Steven, music director at the Opening and Closing Ceremony of the 2018 Asian Games; Vien Reyes, a talented young girl from Papua; Sara FAjira, a singer from Surabaya who won Best New Artiste of Anugerah Planet Muzik 2018; Trust Orchestra, gold medalist in the World Orchestra Festival 2019 in Vienna, Austria; Lyodra M. Ginting, a singer who won Honorable Winner Prix of Sanremo Junior Committee 2017; Ganzer Lana, a sasando<\/em> (a harp-like traditional music string instrument native to Rote Island) player from East Nusa Tenggara; Gregorius Argo, a sape <\/em>(a traditional lute) guitar player from Kalimantan; and Betari, a blind singer from Bandung who performed in Yura Yunita concert.
