The Government will reconstruct public facilities, offices and houses that have been damaged because of riots in Jayapura, Papua Province.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe came to Jayapura to inspect the situation on site. The Government is planning to repair the damages after identifying them,\u201d Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono said after inspecting several buildings in Papua Province on Tuesday (3\/9). <\/p>\n

The buildings are mostly heavily damaged, varies from broken windows to burnt, leaving only burning walls and debris.<\/p>\n

Besides the Government-owned buildings, the Minister also inspected around 200 stalls and houses that were also damaged during the incident.<\/p>\n

He then ordered his ranks to immediately clean up the debris to avoid people\u2019s trauma so that they can immediately return to their daily activities.<\/p>\n

In terms of funding, according to Basuki, damaged Government buildings will be reconstructed with an estimated budget of Rp100 billion from the State Budget (APBN). Meanwhile, for renovation of stalls and damaged houses, the Government will use funds from the budget of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB).<\/p>\n

“The implementation will be regulated by a Presidential Regulation,” said Basuki. (Ministry of PUPR \/ ES)<\/p>\n
