President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo has assured that 1,000 fresh graduates from the provinces of Papua and West Papua will have opportunities to work at state-owned enterprises (BUMN) and largest private companies.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis afternoon, I directly instructed the BUMN and private companies since it will take some time to do it through regular procedures. Thus, I use my authority to give opportunities to 1,000 fresh graduates from Papua,\u201d President Jokowi said when receiving 61 Papuan and West Papuan prominent figures at the State Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday (10\/9).<\/p>\n

The President also pledged to review regulations on the assignment of civil state apparatus, including echelon I, II, and III of ministries\/institutions in other provinces.\u00a0 \u201cThe competition will be very tight if the re-regulation is not done through affirmation acceleration,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

In response to the figures\u2019 proposal on regional expansion, President Jokowi asserted that the Government would conduct a study on regional expansion of 2 to 3 areas in the provinces which he has visited 12 times during the past five years.<\/p>\n

\u201cI look forward for such input from the people, not from the Government. I want the plan for regional expansion is initiated by the people,\u201d President Jokowi said.<\/p>\n

In addition, he also approved the plan to build Nusantara (Archipelago) Dormitory and confirmed that Palapa Ring broadband network will be completed by the end of this year.<\/p>\n

Regarding the plan to build a presidential palace in Papua, President Jokowi said that there is a land issue in the process, but if the Papuan prominent figures can provide an area of 10 hectares and hand over the de facto areas today, the President pledged to start the construction next year.\u00a0(MAY\/RAH\/ES)<\/strong><\/p>\n
