The Government will strive to remove investment barriers so Indonesia is able to overpower other countries and to become an investment magnet during \u201cconsumer revolution\u201d next year, according to President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo.<\/p>\n

President Jokowi asserted that to manifest that idea, young entrepreneurs must change their mindset. They must not depend on projects funded by the State Budget (APBN).<\/p>\n

\u201cEntrepreneurs must also take part in other projects, so that the project will not be carried out by foreign entrepreneurs alone,\u201d President Jokowi said in his remarks during the opening of the 16th<\/sup> National Meeting of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI), at Hilton Hotel, Jakarta, Monday (16\/9).<\/p>\n

Indonesian young entrepreneurs, the President added, must be entrepreneurs who are willing to learn, to innovate, and to use technology in order to become world-class entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n

\u201cIndonesia must become the place where new emerging multinational businesses are born. HIPMI will have many opportunities to enter the new businesses and it is expected to serve as a platform for innovators and world-class entrepreneurs,\u201d President Jokowi said.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, Chairman of HIPMI Bahlil Lahaladia asserted that Indonesia needs new big entrepreneurs. Echoing a similar sentiment, President Jokowi told the Chairman that he had asked for a list of 20 new big entrepreneurs three years ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have not received the names. Maybe they still need time to process and select the names,\u201d the President told HIPMI representatives.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, there is an urgent need of new big entrepreneurs in Indonesia. Thus, the Government must assist the process by providing more access and opportunity to them.<\/p>\n

According to the President, the Government will also strengthen institutional capacity of Government agencies to improve research and technology development. Therefore, the advanced technology will allow young entrepreneurs to partner with foreign investors in high tech industry.<\/p>\n

The President went on to say that the Government will continue to strengthen its institutions and policies on industry sector, – to accelerate supply chains development from global investment-, and on trade sector to open wider global market and protect national entrepreneurs from unfair competitions.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will also accelerate national industrialization by promoting industrial down streaming,\u201d the President concluded. (FID\/JAY\/ES)<\/strong><\/p>\n
