Pancasila state ideology has been proven to resolve conflicts and to safeguard the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, according to Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.<\/p>\n

\u201cPancasila is not just an ideology. It is already part of our society. Pancasila serves as a guide for the Indonesian people to become a nation ready to compete in this age of globalization. We have gone through many hardships but we survive because of Pancasila,\u201d Pramono said during an interview in observance of Pancasila Sanctity Day that falls on 1 October.<\/p>\n

Quoting a statement from Indonesian First President Bung Karno, Pramono said that Pancasila is always present in our society.<\/p>\n

The core of Pancasila, according to Pramono, is mutual cooperation that always becomes Indonesia\u2019s strength in the face of problems.<\/p>\n

He also said that during visits to the regions, President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo always reminds the nation of Pancasila.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have to see as the daily practice of Pancasila shown by the President ,\u201d Pramono said, adding that to teach, disseminate, and promote the values Pancasila to the people, the Government has already established the Agency for the Implementation of State Ideology of Pancasila (BPIP).<\/p>\n

\u201cWe should be grateful that Pancasila as an ideology of the nation has protected us and guided us to become a great nation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

For the record, Pancasila Sanctity Day was established during the New Order under former President Soeharto in observance of the passing of seven heroes of the revolution, who were perished in a failed coup allegedly attempted by members of the now-defunct Indonesian Communist Party (PKI).
