After presidential and vice presidential inauguration on Sunday (20\/10), a member of Agency for the Implementation of State Ideology of Pancasila (BPIP) Steering Committee Mahfud MD was summoned by President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Monday (21\/10).<\/p>\n

After meeting with the President, Mahfud did not deny that he will join the Cabinet for 2019-2024 term. Nevertheless, he said that the President did not mention specific position offered to him.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe asked me to become one of his ministers,\u201d Mahfud said adding that President Jokowi and he discussed legal reform, violations of human rights, efforts to tackle radicalism, and political issues.<\/p>\n

Mahfud went on to say that he trusted the President\u2019s acknowledgement about his background so he is ready to take position of Attorney General, Minister of Law, Minister of Religious Affairs, or other position offered by the President.\u00a0 He also affirmed that he is ready to support President Jokowi since it is for the sake of the country.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, Mahfud said that President Jokowi informed him that the announcement of new Cabinet will take place on Wednesday (23\/10).<\/p>\n

For the record, several figures were summoned by President Jokowi to the Presidential Palace, among others, app-based transportation Gojek founder and CEO Nadiem Makarim, Regent of South Minahasa Christiany Eugenia Tetty Paruntu, CEO of NET TV Wishnutama, and businessman Erick Thohir.
