Ministries and institutions under Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture have set three indicators of target achievement for next year.<\/p>\n

“First, the Human Development Index (HDI). We have set HDI number at 71.98 in 2019. The figure will rise to 72.51 in 2020 and will reach 75.54 later in 2024. That is what we will achieve,\u201d Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy told reporters after attending a Limited Meeting at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Thursday (31\/10).<\/p>\n

Second, Effendy continued, the poverty rate. The 2019 poverty rate is expected to range between 8.5 – 9.5 percent, while in 2020 the target rises to 8.5 \u2013 9 percent and 6.5 \u2013 7 percent in 2024.<\/p>\n

Third, the gini ratio (a ratio to measure the level of inequality). According to the Minister, the gini ratio in 2019 is expected to be at 0.380 – 0.385, while in 2020 it is expected at 0.375 – 0.380 and in 2024 it is targeted at 0.370 – 0.374.<\/p>\n

“That is what we will set as a benchmark for all ministries and institutions under the coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture,” Effendy said, while adding that there are 7 ministers and 14 institutions under his supervision.<\/p>\n

Effendy added that President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo said that for the next five years, the Government will focus on the development of human resources.<\/p>\n

Thus, the President called on all ministers, especially ministers under the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture to working harder with measurable targets.<\/p>\n

In terms of stunting issue, President Jokowi said that the stunting rate this year is still at 27%. The President then set a target to decrease the stunting cases to 10% in 2025.<\/p>\n

“The relevant ministries are urged to seriously handle this issue, to carefully look at red areas that have major stunting cases in Indonesia and involve all ministries to handle it,” the Coordinating Minister explained. (FID \/ JAY \/ ES)<\/p>\n
