In a bid to follow-up President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo\u2019s directives during a Limited Meeting on the preparations for the FIFA U-20 World Cup (17\/1), Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing through<\/p>\n

Directorate General of Human Settlements will work on the facilities and infrastructures to support the hosting of FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2021, particularly the rehabilitation of stadiums which is estimated to cost about Rp65-300 billion.<\/p>\n

The Ministry\u2019s Head of Center for Development of Education, Sports, and Market Infrastructure Centers (PSPPOP) Suprijanto said that the rehabilitation and development of venue to support the FIFA U-20 World Cup will cost Rp65-300 billion with this following details; rehabilitation of 2 main venues namely Pakansari Stadium in West Java and I Wayan Dipta in Bali (Rp15-170 billion), rehabilitation of 3 training fields (Sriwedari Solo, Sultan Agung Bantul, Delta Sidoarjo), and 12 football fields (5 in Bogor, 4 in Solo, 3 in Yogyakarta) which will cost Rp40-120 billion in total, and the development of 2 new stadiums in Yogyakarta (Rp10 billion). \u201cThe rehabilitation of all main venues and training fields is projected to be completed in December 2020,\u201d Iwan said.<\/p>\n

For the record, world soccer body FIFA on 18 January 2020 has approved six stadiums to be used as venues for the U-20 World Cup in 2021 out of 10 stadiums proposed by the Indonesian Government. The six stadiums are, Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Main Stadium in Jakarta, Pakansari Stadium in Bogor, Manahan Stadium in Solo, Mandala Krida Stadium in Yogyakarta, Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya, and I Wayan Dipta Stadium in Bali.<\/p>\n

Besides that six stadiums, the Government also prepare options for supporting stadiums, namely Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium in Palembang, Patriot Chandrabaga Stadium in Bekasi, Wibawa Mukti Stadium in Cikarang, and Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung Regency. Each stadium will have five training fields consist of four outdoor fields and one indoor field.<\/p>\n

Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) and regional governments have conducted preliminary assessment of the six stadiums approved by FIFA. Three of six stadiums are ready to be used, they are GBK Stadium in Jakarta, Pakansari Stadium in Bogor (with note that there will be minor repairment), and Manahan Stadium in Surakarta (with minor repairment).<\/p>\n

In the meantime, the other three stadiums will also have rehabilitation. Mandala Krida Stadium in Yogyakarta must undergo rehabilitation, among others fixing the height of glare lighting from 28 meters to 35 meters, replacing single seat, re-layout west area and mix zone, and adding mechanical and electrical equipment including air conditioners, generator sets.<\/p>\n

Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya must undergo rehabilitation, among others adding indoor warming up area, increasing the intensity of light from 1,200 lux to 2,400 lux, replace Japonica grass to Matrella grass, adding dressing rooms that meet FIFA standards, and fixing the gate to make it unreachable for the spectators.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, rehabilitation of I Wayan Dipta Stadium in Gianyar, Bali cover the addition of dressing rooms, addition of single seat that meet FIFA standards, installation of gates at the outer ring of the stadium and rain gun to water the fields, and addition of lamp power.
