(Photo by: Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture).<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In a bid to protect the interest of Indonesian pilgrims who are affected by the decision made by the Government of Saudi Arabia that imposed a temporary ban on all umrah pilgrims, the Indonesian Government will continue to coordinate with other Ministries\/Institutions.<\/p>\n<p>According to Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, the Indonesian Government understands that the decision was made to keep Saudi Arabia safe from the outbreak of coronavirus (Covid-19).<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Indonesian Government has communicated with the Kingdom in order to reconsider the ban and allow Indonesian umrah pilgrims who have departed to Saudi Arabia to continue their pilgrimage,&#8221; Muhadjir said after a Ministerial Coordination Meeting on the Impact of Umrah Pilgrimages Ban amid fears of the Covid-19 outbreak at the Office of Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, Jakarta, Thursday (27\/2).<\/p>\n<p>For the record, the number of Indonesian umrah pilgrims in the last five years continues to increase.
