The Government of Indonesia is not only taking measures to combat the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country but also taking measures to protect its citizens abroad amidst the outbreak.<\/p>\n

The statement was delivered by Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Thursday (26\/3) after accompanying President Joko Widodo to attend the G20 Online Meeting.<\/p>\n

The policy, according to the Foreign Minister, takes into account the measures taken by various countries, including temporary suspension of all international flights, lockdown, quarantine policies and others policies which will give impact on Indonesian citizens, especially those who are traveling abroad.<\/p>\n

“Therefore, all our diplomatic representatives continue to monitor and provide assistance as much as possible,” Retno said, adding that there are many Indonesians who work abroad as crew members of Cruise Ships.<\/p>\n

“As of today, our diplomatic representatives have provided assistance for more than 1,600 cases faced by Indonesian citizens abroad,” the Foreign Minister added.<\/p>\n

She reiterated that the Government is committed to protecting its citizens at home and abroad. (UN\/EN).<\/p>\n
