Today\u2019s limited meeting will discuss optimization of domestic industry in handling COVID-19.<\/p>\n
We have noted that 213 countries have been affected by the pandemic and all countries are fighting over medical equipment needed to handle COVID-19. Therefore, we should empower our potential resources, particularly our domestic industries which produce medical equipment needed to handle the COVID-19, including industries which produce raw materials, medicine, pharmacy, herbal medicines, PPE, and face masks as well as ventilators.<\/p>\n
To that end, I\u2019d like to address several issues, first, export activities and fulfillment of domestic needs must be properly managed. We should not export all products, while we cannot fulfill our domestic needs. Do manage the arrangement carefully. I also take note that our domestic industries can already mass-produce the PPE. Likewise, the face mask. Do arrange the supply.<\/p>\n
Second, all ministries should ease the permit process. Do not let lengthy permit procedures hamper the industries. For example, PPE industries which must follow numerous standards should be facilitated by the Government so that the standard<\/p>\n
can be fulfilled. I strongly request this. Do avoid any complaints regarding permit procedures which may hamper production process.<\/p>\n
Third, related to raw materials. I’m glad to hear that the raw materials can now be fulfilled by our domestic industries. However, regarding procedures of imported raw materials, particularly for Customs Department and Ministry of Trade, do ease the procedures so that the process can be well-integrated and help the business sector.<\/p>\n
Fourth, fiscal incentives should be aimed at MSME industries which produce medical equipment.<\/p>\n
That concludes my remarks.<\/p>\n
