(Photo by: PR\/Agung)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing has announced it will open employment through regular and cash labor-intensive projects.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;On job creation, we designed a labor-intensive project with a budget of Rp 11.6 trillion,&#8221; Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono said after a limited Meeting, Jakarta, Friday (29\/5).<\/p>\n<p>The project will require workers to work on irrigation networks maintenance, flood control, drainage in urban and rural areas, rural infrastructure, Community Based Drinking Water Supply, and Sanitation (Pamsimas).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Some projects are running with a total absorption of around 595,000 workers, with\u00a0 30 to 100 days length of work per person, specifically for cash labor-intensive work,&#8221; Basuki said.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the Ministry also created more job opportunities for regular works such as dams and highway development as well as irrigation rehabilitation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;On primary irrigation, we ask that for the next 1-2 months, only human resources will be utilized,&#8221; the Minister said, adding that there will be 2,865 locations in need of human resources including irrigation and other projects in the Ministry.<\/p>\n<p>Through the works in 2,865 locations, the Ministry has absorbed around 78,000 more people.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister stated that the Ministry agreed to delay project completion in order to open more employment.
