The Government continues to renew its commitment to develop excellent human resources particularly in teaching and learning activities during the new normal through development of educational infrastructure.<\/p>\n

To that end, the Government recently resumed the construction of a laboratory building and an electrical workshop of Padang State Polytechnic in West Sumatra province whose constructions discontinued in 2016.<\/p>\n

The Government also resumed the construction of the Mataram State Islamic University (UIN) rectorate building in West Nusa Tenggara province.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe continue to build educational facilities to improve the quality of human resources. The next generation must be smarter because the facilities are now better,\u201d Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono said.<\/p>\n

The Ministry\u2019s Directorate General of Cipta Karya (Human Settlements Development), he added, also continues the construction of a laboratory building and an electrical workshop of Padang State Polytechnic three floors covering an area of \u200b\u200b1,512 square meters (m\u00b2) and installs supporting facilities such as trams for the disabled, CCTV, air conditioning and classrooms.<\/p>\n

The construction of the building, which is worth Rp7.8 billion, started in 2019 and completed in four and a half months. The building was handed over to the Padang State Polytechnic on 18 February 2020 and is to be immediately used for teaching and learning activities through the new normal scheme.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe hope that the facilities can be utilized for teaching and learning activities. This is a concrete form and tangible proof of the support of Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing to create an advanced Indonesian human resource,\u201d said the Ministry\u2019s Head of the Center for Development of Education, Sports and Market Facilities and Infrastructure Iwan Suprijanto.<\/p>\n

Apart from the Padang State Polytechnic, the Ministry also rehabilitated three other universities in the province, namely the Indonesian Institute of Art (ISI) Padangpanjang, the Batusangkar State Islamic Institute (IAIN) and the Payakumbuh State Agricultural Polytechnic.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Ministry has also carried out works on rehabilitation of the Mataram Islamic University (UIN) rectorate building, which is located 5.5 kilometers from West Nusa Tenggara capital of Mataram City.<\/p>\n

The construction was carried out within 284 calendar days with a total budget of Rp37.1 billion sourced from the 2019 State Budget with the implementing contractor of PT. Damai Indah Utama.<\/p>\n

The scope of the works for the construction of UIN Mataram rectorate building includes structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical works, supporting buildings, and works of outside infrastructure and facilities with a building area of \u200b\u200b7,004 m\u00b2 and a landscape area of \u200b\u200b4,332 m\u00b2.<\/p>\n

The rehabilitation work of State Universities (PTN) and State Islamic Religious Universities (PTKIN) is based on Presidential Regulation Number 43 of 2019 on Development, Rehabilitation, or Renovation of People\u2019s Markets, Higher Education Infrastructure, and Elementary and Secondary Education Units.<\/p>\n

The development criteria of PTN and PTKIN are land owned by PTN, PTKIN or related institutions and ministries, buildings that are not in dispute or legal issues, prioritized buildings that are not completed more than 50%, have an environmental impact analysis (Amdal) document and building permit (IMB), have conducted an audit from the Development Finance Comptroller (BPKP) and a building feasibility audit.
