Integrated steps from all regional elements are essential to speed up COVID-19 handling, Head of the COVID-19 Task Force Doni Monardo has said.<\/p>\n

“So, the provincial task force, the regency\/municipal task force must come from all elements of the community,” Doni said to the press after a limited meeting at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday\u00a0 (29\/6).<\/p>\n

Thus, Doni expressed hope that every policy issued by the regional heads are welcomed positively by the communities, especially those related to prevention efforts, increased discipline, and campaign to wear masks. Furthermore, Doni said that the President, during the visit to East Java earlier, tasked the Task Force and Ministry of Health to produce more masks and distributed them to the public.<\/p>\n

“If at each task force command post the elements are complete and all of them provide mutual support, then this will be able to assist so that the community can voluntarily comply,” added Doni. He added that the use of regional or local languages \u200b\u200bas well as the use of appropriate terms is greatly needed.<\/p>\n

On medical device support, Doni stated, the President has instructed the Task Force and Ministry of Health to distribute more PCR machines. Currently, there are 222 machines placed throughout the regions.<\/p>\n

“It is indeed not evenly distributed in all regencies\/municipalities or at the provincial level, but at least almost all of the provinces have the ability to carry out specimen examination, so there is no need for one province to send it to other provinces,” the Task Force Head said.<\/p>\n

Doni also went on to say that Minister of Health has sent health workers, especially doctors, to East Java. In the second phase, several other areas that still need additional doctors and medical devices such as ventilators will be included.<\/p>\n

“In the near future all the needs of each region, especially 57 regencies\/municipalities with high risk, we will immediately provide support,” he concluded. (FID\/EN<\/strong>)<\/p>\n
