(Source: Ministry of Finance)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Starting 17 August 2020, four state-owned banks namely Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Bank Mandiri, Bank Negara Indonesia and Bank Tabungan Negara will provide service of tax identification number (NPWP) registration for customers or prospective customers.<\/p>\n<p>Those banks collaborate with the Directorate General of Taxes to integrate the banking and taxes data online through a tax application service provider system.<\/p>\n<p>The integration of this service is expected to simplify the administrative process for the public, especially those who do not yet have a tax identification number as a requirement to open a bank account or apply for credit.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, during the current pandemic, the registration of tax identification number and validation application through those banks are expected to make it easier for SMEs to access and obtain interest\/margin subsidy assistance facilities provided by the Government to help them to maintain business continuity.<\/p>\n<p>The Directorate General of Taxes invited taxpayers including SMEs to immediately take advantage of various tax stimulus that have been provided by the Government in order to maintain and recover the national economy.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to tax number data, the validation system can also show a history of compliance with income tax returns that can be used by banks for credit risk evaluation process.<\/p>\n<p>Other than to increasing administrative ease for customers, the tax number validation service will improve the quality of Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures for banks because validation of customer or prospective customer no longer depends on physical tax card and will be carried out directly to the tax office system instead.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on various tax facilities and policies following COVID-19 pandemic, visit www.pajak.go.id\/covid19. <strong>(Ministry of Finance \/ EN)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Translated by: Estu Widyamurti<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Reviewed by: Mia Medyana<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Starting 17 August 2020, four state-owned banks namely Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Bank Mandiri, Bank Negara Indonesia and Bank Tabungan Negara will provide service of tax identification number (NPWP) registration for customers or prospective customers.
