(Photo by: BPMI)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Wage subsidy program provided by the Government to workers is considered as an additional value for members of BP Jamsostek social security program, previously known as BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (Workers Social Security Provider Body) besides protection in workplace including injury and death, as well as retirement benefits.<\/p>\n<p>Director of the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Agus Susanto said that the Agency will select data of workers registered as active members of the BP Jamsostek social security program with salary or wage less than Rp5 million that matched with data provided by companies to BP Jamsostek and have been recorded in the system.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe data does not include those working at state-owned enterprises, government institutions, government agencies since state civil apparatus are not eligible for the subsidy,\u201d Agus said in a press statement at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Monday (10\/8).<\/p>\n<p>To date, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan is accessing 15.7 million data of workers registered as active members of the BP Jamsostek social security program as of 30 June 2020 including their names and addresses. However, bank accounts of the workers have not recorded in the data.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor that reason, BP Jamsostek, on Saturday (8\/8), had informed companies to input bank accounts of workers with salary or wage below Rp5 million that matched with data provided to BP Jamsostek,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Director went on to say that the implementation of this program requires participation from all sides and active role of the companies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe also urge companies that are not paying BPJS premium regularly, have not reported salary of the workers, or have not registered the workers in BPJS Ketenagakerjaan to comply with the regulations,\u201d Agus said adding that this is the right time to make a transformation in economic sector as well as to become a model citizen who complies with the regulations.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the prevailing provisions, companies are obliged to protect the workers by registering them in the BP Jamsostek program and the workers have the rights to receive protection.<\/p>\n<p>Also on that occasion, Agus called on companies to check and validate whether their workers\u2019 salaries are below Rp5 million or not. \u201cI think active role from all sides be it employers, employees, and the public are necessary so that the subsidy can bring benefits to all of us and right on target,\u201d he concluded.
