Indonesia\u2019s COVID-19 recovery rate is higher than that of the global average with daily recovery number reaching 3,000 per day, Ministry of Health has reported.<\/p>\n

According to Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Task Force Wiku Adisasmito, the country\u2019s recovery rate as of 27 August 2020 was at 72.8% or 118,575 cases.<\/p>\n

The figure, according to Wiku, increased from those in the previous days of 71.5% and higher than that of the world average which stands at 69.34%.<\/p>\n

For active cases, Wiku continued, the percentage was 22.9% or 37,245 cases while the global percentage was 27.24% on average. He added that the data on death cases in Indonesia stands at 4.3% or 7,064 cases.<\/p>\n

\u201cGlobal average death cases are at 3.40%. Indonesia is still above the global average,\u201d Wiku explained during a press conference on Thursday (27\/8), adding that there were still additional new positive cases of 2,719 cases.<\/p>\n

For the weekly risk zone map, 32 districts \/ cities are in the red or high risk zones, 222 districts \/ cities are in the orange or medium risk zones, 189 districts \/ cities are in the yellow or low risk zones, 41 districts \/ cities report no new cases and 30 districts \/ cities are not included in the green zones.<\/p>\n

However, there are 17 districts \/ cities whose status has increased from moderate risk or yellow to high or red zones. Those districts \/ cities, according to Wiku, are located in 10 provinces including West Sumatra province (1), North Sumatra province (1), South Sumatra province (1), Capital Jakarta (2), West Java province (1), Central Java province (2), East Java province (2), Central Kalimantan province (2), South Kalimantan province (4) and East Kalimantan province (1).<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have asked those districts \/ cities to immediately improve case handling, epidemiological investigations and conduct testing properly so their risk position can return to medium or low, especially for 10 districts \/ cities which are in the red zones for four consecutive weeks ” said Wiku.<\/p>\n

He also pointed out that for Capital Jakarta, the red zones are West Jakarta, Central Jakarta and North Jakarta.<\/p>\n

“The number of cases in the capital is still on the rise and a week ago the cumulative case was the highest. Meanwhile, the number of death cases continues to rise with 116 deaths within a week, but the recovery rate has also increased by 75%,\u201d Wiku explained.<\/p>\n

Other areas (that has seen spike in the number of cases) include Gorontalo province, Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency, Ambon City, Medan City, Deli Serdang, Balikpapan City and Sidoarjo Regency.<\/p>\n

The additional number of positive cases in those areas tends to drop, but treatment for positive cases is in its peak phase, while the death rate from positive cases is also still in its peak.<\/p>\n
