(Photo by: Ministry of SOEs\/Presidential Staffer Billy Mambrasar).<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) has officially launched a free mentoring program for Papuan employees who have worked in various SOEs in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>This mentoring program is aimed at 522 best employees who have worked in various SOEs and are part of the recruitment of 1,000 Papuan employees, which was announced by President Jokowi since August 2019.<\/p>\n<p>To ensure that employees who have been recruited in the first phase by various SOEs experience significant career development, the Indonesian Human Capital Forum (FHCI) together with Ministry of SOEs, the Kitong Bisa Foundation, together with state-owned BNI, BRI, Pegadaian, and Pertamina launched a webinar program.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is our commitment to support President Joko Widodo&#8217;s program, and also a form of our contribution to developing the country,&#8221; Chairman of the Committee for the Implementation of Online Mentoring for SOEs Employees from Papua Eko Kurniawan said.<\/p>\n<p>This program is entitled: &#8220;Maintaining Working Spirit amid the COVID-19 Pandemic&#8221;, with the aim of maintaining the enthusiasm and work performance of these Papuan employees during the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>On this occasion, Presidential Staffer Billy Mambrasar elaborated his working experience during a crisis. &#8220;It was 2008 when I graduated and worked as an employee in a private company, then there was a financial crisis. At that time I had given up on being fired, but I still worked hard and performed well, no matter what happened. Praise God, my achievements are appreciated by the company, and I was even promoted,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Director of Freeport Indonesia Claus Wamafma emphasized discipline as the main key to success in pursuing a career to the top. He hopes that the Papuans who worked in SOEs can focus on developing their soft skills so that they can survive under any conditions.<\/p>\n<p>For the record, this online mentoring program will be held in 6 series, the main topic of which revolves around tips and tricks on how to have a successful career in the workplace.<\/p>\n<p>This program aims to motivate more Papuans to have careers in both the Government\/SOEs sector and the private sector.<\/p>\n<p>Several SOEs employees from Papua such as Neil Aiwoy from the state-owned electricity company PLN of Papua and West Papua Region expressed his desire to work harder to develop Papua. &#8220;I want, not only for me to build electricity in the Land of Papua, but I can also build the people,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Sarah Gabriella, a participant from Biak, expressed her aspiration to become a manager in a company she worked for. &#8220;I expressed my gratitude to the President and Minister of SOEs for this recruitment program, I hope that my work can make Papuans proud, even throughout Indonesia,&#8221; she stated.<\/p>\n<p>This recruitment program shows the commitment of the Indonesian Government to developing human resources especially Papuans. It is expected that by investing in human resource development through the webinar program, it will be able to contribute to increasing human-based welfare development.
