(Photo by: PR\/Ibrahim)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Government increases the number of isolation facilities for asymptomatic COVID-19 patients and those showing mild symptoms, as well as increases the capacity of beds at Intensive Care Units (ICU) at referral hospitals for patients with severe COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>The statement was made by President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo at his introductory remarks during a virtual Limited Meeting on the Report of COVID-19 Handling and National Economic Recovery Committee from the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday (14\/9).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are still 2,581 vacant beds for patients with mild COVID-19 in the Wisma Atlet (Athlete Village) Emergency Hospital: \u00a0858 beds in tower 6 and 1,723 beds in tower 7,\u201d the President said.<\/p>\n<p>The Emergency Hospital also has 4,863 available beds to self-isolate asymptomatic COVID-19 patients in tower 4 and tower 5.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHealth Training Facility in Ciloto can accommodate 653 people. We are also preparing several other training facilities in Batam, Semarang, and Makassar,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Government, he added, is also preparing quarantine facilities for mild patients so they can undergo self-isolation to prevent them from transmitting the virus to their families.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have cooperated with one- and two-star hotels to provide quarantine facilities. Please disseminate that there are 15 one- and two-star hotels in Jakarta that can accommodate 3,000 beds,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>On that occasion, the President ordered the related ministers to ensure the availability of beds in medical ward and ICU at the referral hospitals for severe COVID-19 patients.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have ordered Minister of Health to conduct audit and revision to health protocols for medical staff and patients at hospitals. Thus, hospital will not become a new COVID-19 cluster,\u201d he firmly said.
