The Government has announced it will continue to meet sustainable national development goals through the Village Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) program.<\/p>\n

\u201cVillage SDGs are a derivative of Presidential Regulation Number 59 of 2017 on measures to achieve the national sustainable development goals,\u201d said Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration Abdul Halim Iskandar during a seminar held by FKIP Tidar University (UNTIDAR) at the Untidar Rectorate Building, Magelang, Wednesday (16\/9).<\/p>\n

In a bid to achieve national SDGs, the Minister said the Government has devised Village SDGs which are expected to serve as a reference for village development in the period of 2020-2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Village SDGs are an integrated effort to achieve the national sustainable development goals,\u201d he said, adding that village governments are given flexibility to determine their village development direction in accordance with factual conditions in their respective villages.<\/p>\n

\u201cGiven that global SDGs and national SDGs do not regulate local wisdom and customs in the villages, we\u2019ve added one point in the Village SDGs which regulates local wisdom; hence, village governments can build their villages according to existing local wisdoms,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

To that end, his Ministry classified the village into nine according to the Village SDGs, namely:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. No Poverty and Hunger Villages<\/li>\n
  2. Evenly Grown Economy Village<\/li>\n
  3. Health Care Village<\/li>\n
  4. Environment Care Village<\/li>\n
  5. Education Care Village<\/li>\n
  6. Female Friendly Village<\/li>\n
  7. Networked Village<\/li>\n
  8. Cultural Response Village<\/li>\n
  9. Pancasila-minded Village<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The Minister further said the Government is also determined to make Village SDGs a concrete step in building the nation, while expressing hope that the concept is not only practical at a local village level but also at the global level. (Ministry of Health PR\/EN)<\/strong><\/p>\n
