Joint Press Statement regarding the National Logistics Ecosystem, Thursday (24\/9).<\/p><\/div>\n

Ministry of Transportation has integrated the licensing system of export-import and logistics services in the transportation aspect in an effort to improve connectivity and accessibility between regions.<\/p>\n

“Integration and connection of infrastructure with transportation nodes such as ports, airports, trains and terminals must be carried out. And, of course, this will connect land, sea and air,” Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said during a joint press statement on the National Logistics Ecosystem, Thursday (24\/9).<\/p>\n

The Ministry, Budi said, has also implemented some related efforts to provide process and cost efficiency, some of which are by combining a logistics platform, simplifying business processes through single submissions, implementing online autogate at ports and also integrating all modes of logistics transportation.<\/p>\n

“Especially in the sea which is very closely related to this problem, in the short term, the development of NLE, simplifying the pre-clearance business process in an effort to eliminate replication and repetition is very important,” the Minister said.<\/p>\n

The Minister will continue to encourage logistics companies to collaborate using the new system to simplify and streamline processes.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Deputy to Cabinet Secretary for Economic Affairs Satya Bhakti Parikesit stated that according to Presidential Instruction Number 5 of 2020, the arrangement of the national logistics ecosystem is intended to improve national logistics work, improve the investment climate and increase economic competitiveness.<\/p>\n

“The president also pays attention to the arrangement of the national logistics ecosystem. This can also be intended to improve the indicators of ease of doing business, especially trading across borders, whose increase in the past few years has always been stagnant,” Bhakti said.<\/p>\n

Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the Deputy said that the arrangement of the national logistics ecosystem is also relevant, especially in the Government’s efforts from the non-fiscal side through the development of an efficient logistics system which can ultimately improve the national economic growth rate and sustainability.<\/p>\n

The Government, Bhakti added, encourages all logistics entities to work together to become agents of change in order to create a healthy and highly competitive logistics ecosystem.<\/p>\n

“We, from the Cabinet Secretariat, will always support, supervise and ensure that the President’s directive elaborated in the action plan contained in Presidential Instruction Number 5 of 2020 can be well-implemented, both in output and outcome,” Bhakti concluded. (MAY\/EN<\/strong>)<\/p>\n
